There are 2 options available:

1. Generate electricity from a solar array
2. Produce hot water from a hydro-solar panel

Solar panels, also called solar electric modules or photovoltaic (PV) panels, are your link to the sun. They convert the suns energy into direct current (DC) electricity. There are three kinds of solar cells: single crystal, multi-crystal and amorphous.

Single crystal cells are thin slices of a silicon crystal grown in a lab. These cells are typically round or octagonal. Multi crystal cells are slices of ground up crystals (think of salami) and are usually square. Uni-solar amorphous cells are more like a thin sheet of silicon that is layered. Each layer absorbs a different colour of light.

All of the solar solutions we offer are approved and come with a strong aluminium frame and large weatherproof junction boxes.

Hydro-solar panels only produce hot water. They are totally self powered and consist of a hydro solar panel, PV pump and storage tank. A very simple, yet cost effective hot water supply system.

Grants are available ranging from a fixed contribution or up to 30% of the total cost.
